UPDATE (9/24, 7:30am): Welcome to Boing Boing readers (thanks for the pointer, Xeni). Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!
Take two parts Half Life 2 screenshots (thanks to Gamespot, Gamespy and Planet Half Life), one part Oakenfold & Co. (iTMS link here, although, mysteriously, they do not have Tranceport) and a dash of too much time with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7, and you get 30 Scenes in 30 Seconds (DivX).
As for an update on the product, both Gamespy and Gamespot are quoting a forum post by Gabe Newell of Valve that appears to indicate that an HL2 Release Candidate had gone to Vivendi Universal on 9/15. We are taking this with a grain of salt after the recent "fake" post by someone breaking into Newell's account that HL2 had gone gold.
Either way, if you have Valve's Steam software manager installed, you're probably already pre-loading it now. Alternatively you can satisfy your Jones (or is that Freeman?) in-store on Nov 1.
